My Energy GIE
Background and Status
myenergy was established as an economic interest group (groupement d’intérêt économique (GIE)) and is the competence centre in Luxembourg for information and consulting services on energy efficiency and renewable energies.
The main myenergy missions are structured along three divisions:
- Awareness raising and information
- General advice
- Energy policy consulting
Those missions reflect the efforts of the Luxembourg government to implement a sustainable energy policy. They contribute to an improved security of energy supply and environmental protection by reducing fossil fuel consumption thanks to a more efficient use and substitution by renewable energy sources.
myenergy is supported by the state of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, represented through the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade as well as the Ministry for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure.
Expertise
myenergy’s activities - covering the areas of energy efficiency (mainly in buildings) and renewable energy sources - are related to dissemination as well as energy policy, and typically include:
- Awareness raising and information of the public, municipalities and enterprises
- General advice to the public, municipalities and enterprises
- Assistance of the ministries responsible for energy policy
- Design and management of measures and programs
- Cooperation in national and European projects
- Participation in national and European groups and networks
